Things You Can Do to Reduce Plastic Waste in July.

As many of us know, Plastic Free July is an event with great importance to many. It’s a movement that raises awareness in millions of people of the amount of wasteful plastic we dispose in our everyday. It’s important to keep ourselves informed and up to date about the statistics of global waste furthermore improve our everyday lives by implementing the 3Rs in our everyday life. For this reason, we’ve came up and summarised the most common solutions and ways you can make an Impact to our society in July.

Implement The 3Rs.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. These are the 3 words that will help filter out the unnecessary objects that we’d buy in stores furthermore helps us to find alternative ways to make things useful. Here are some examples.

Reduce – Avoiding single-use plastics such as drinking straws.

Reuse – Carry a reusable bottle.

Recycle – Use old newspapers to clean windows.

Supporting Campaigns & Crowdfunds.

If you can’t recycle items in your municipal system, create or search for local and global campaigns and crowdfunds that support the reduce of plastic waste.

According to PlasticFreeJuly.com, You can also support campaigns for:

  • Local and onshore recycling facilities, to reduce the pollution caused by transporting goods.
  • Governments to regulate manufacturers to minimise packaging and use sustainable materials.
  • Governments holding manufacturers accountable by implementing extended producer responsibility schemes.

Our organisation, Project33 is a recycling project that will have a positive impact on the environment and communities in different locations worldwide, particularly in developing countries. We are very excited to be starting our first plastic recycling facility and production of R3FORM3D plastic products in Germany and the UK. Our next location will be in West Africa, Covid-19 allowing. To support our organisation, you can join the cause by donating, joining our efforts, and spreading the word.
